How it works

From first question to funds in your account

Five steps, one person on your file, and no surprises about what happens next.

  1. 1

    1. Tell us the move — about 60 seconds

What you're funding, roughly how much, your state, how long you've been trading and whether there's property in the picture. No credit check when you first enquire.

  2. 2

    2. A specialist calls you

A real person reads your enquiry and rings to fill in the gaps: quotes, timing, cash flow, anything unusual. This is where accurate form answers save everyone time.

  3. 3

    3. You hear the best-fit route

Secured, unsecured, equipment finance, a line of credit or a mix. We explain why it suits, what it will need and what it costs before you commit to anything.

  4. 4

    4. Documents, only when you're ready

If you decide to proceed, you get a specific checklist for your route — not a generic list of everything a lender could ever ask for.

  5. 5

    5. Approval and funding

Funds go to your account, or straight to the supplier, builder or seller. On property-secured loans, $20k to $250k is possible same day and up to $5m possible within 24–48 hours; same-day funding is possible for smaller unsecured amounts.

What to have handy

You don't need anything to enquire. When you're ready to apply, the usual starting set is photo ID for each director, your ABN, recent business bank statements and a quote or contract for what you're buying. The funding planner builds a checklist for your situation, and our page on business loan documents explains what each one is for.

Why a person, not an algorithm

Small-business milestones rarely fit a template. A café owner opening a second site, a tradie buying out a partner and a clinic refitting treatment rooms all need different structures. A specialist can weigh a big new contract, a landlord contribution or a payment plan with the ATO in a way an online form never will.

Common questions

Does enquiring affect my credit score?

No. Your first enquiry involves no credit check. It's only discussed once you've heard your options and chosen to apply.

Will my details be sent to lots of lenders?

No. Your enquiry stays with the specialist working on it, who approaches the lender that fits your situation. We don't spray applications around hoping one sticks.

What slows an application down?

Missing documents, quotes that don't match the amount requested, unlodged BAS and unclear purpose are the usual culprits. The funding planner lists what to gather for your situation.

Can funds be paid straight to my supplier?

Often, yes. Equipment finance usually pays the supplier directly, and other loans can pay a builder, seller or settlement agent where that suits the deal.

What if the answer is no?

We'll tell you plainly and explain what would change it — more trading history, lodged BAS, a deposit, a different structure or security. Many owners come back a few months later with a stronger file.
